Irish whiskey is a triple-distilled whiskey that originated from Ireland and contains a maximum alcohol by volume of 94.8%. This brown liquor is produced using both malted and un malted barley.

Differences Between Irish Whiskey vs Scotch
Irish whisky is often distilled three times and can be manufactured from any combination of cereal grains, but Scottish whisky is made from 100% malted barley and distilled twice in copper pot stills.
Another significant distinction between the two is the types of whisky. In Scotland, grain whisky is primarily manufactured from wheat, whereas corn is used in the majority of grain whiskeys in Ireland.
Irish single malts are more similar to the Speyside or Lowlands versions of Scottish single malts. Irish whiskey has a distinctive Irish style known as the single pot still, which does not exist in Scotch whisky.
