Methanol (Methyl Alcohol)

Ethylene glycol is a synthetic, toxic alcohol primarily used as an antifreeze and coolant. It is colorless, odorless, and sweet-tasting but is highly toxic if ingested.

Production Process:

  1. Ethylene Oxidation:

    • Ethylene is oxidized using oxygen or air to produce ethylene oxide.
  2. Hydration:

    • Ethylene oxide is combined with water to form ethylene glycol.
  3. Purification:

    • The crude ethylene glycol is purified through vacuum distillation to remove unwanted byproducts.

Uses:

  • Antifreeze & Coolants: Used in automotive and industrial cooling systems.
  • Plastics & Resins: A key ingredient in polyester production.
  • Paints & Coatings: Acts as a solvent in various paints and coatings.
  • Chemical Manufacturing: Used to produce adhesives, inks, and lubricants.

Methanol is a highly toxic, volatile, and flammable alcohol used primarily as an industrial chemical and fuel additive. It is colorless with a slight alcohol odor. As a bulk supplier of methanol, we offer various bulk packaging options of up to 1,000-liter (275-gallon) IBC tanks.

Our Production Process:

Natural gas, coal, or biomass is first converted into syngas (a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen), Syngas is reacted with a catalyst (typically copper or zinc-based) under high pressure and temperature to produce methanol. The crude methanol is then distilled to remove impurities and achieve high purity.

Uses include:

Industrial Solvent: Used in the production of formaldehyde, paints, and plastics.

Fuel & Energy: A component in biodiesel and fuel blending,

Antifreeze & Windshield Washer Fluid: Used in de-icing and industrial applications. Chemical Manufacturing: Used to produce adhesives, pharmaceuticals, and acetic acid.
